A tribal sheikh was arrested in Shabwa governorate hours after a campaign targeting a number of youths

Security authorities in Shabwa governorate in southeastern Yemen have arrested a tribal sheikh, hours after arresting young men affiliated with him.

Local sources reported that on Sunday, October 26, 2025, a security post arrested Sheikh Saleh Mansour Al-Qumaishi, leader of the so-called “Peaceful Dignity Movement” for the population of Al-Wahidi regions.

Al-Qumaishi was arrested at a security point in the coastal district of Radum, following a campaign targeting more than 10 young men affiliated with the same group led by Al-Qumaishi.

Al-Qumaishi is considered one of the most prominent opponents of the leadership of local authorities in Shabwa governorate.
